Hi! I'm Lynn Johnstone.

When my daughter was 14, she announced that she wanted to go vegan. (Insert scared face!)

Like many parents, I wasn't sure what to think. I wanted to support her, but I also wanted to know she would be getting the nutrition she needed. Questions about protein, iron, calcium and other nutrients quickly started piling up, and I found myself searching for clear answers. Google and Instagram weren't very helpful.

So I went back to university to learn more.

What I discovered was reassuring: a vegan diet can be satisfactory at any age, provided you understand a few important nutritional principles.

With knowledge came confidence.

I also worked out that I knew stuff that lots of other parents wanted to know. So I wrote down what I learned.

Nourished Vegan – A Teenager's Guide is the book I wish we'd had at the beginning. It translates the science into straightforward guidance and easy recipes, helping teenagers understand how to nourish themselves while making life easier for the parents supporting them.

What surprised me most wasn't the nutrition though.

By saying yes to something that mattered deeply to my daughter, I was invited into her world. We spent time together, learned together, and had conversations I'm sure we wouldn't have had otherwise.

That's why I'm passionate about helping other parents support their teenager's vegan journey—not just because of the food, but because I really love what this one thing did for our relationship. (Insert heart emoji here :))
