Hi, I'm Lynn, and I am one Mother of a vegan ;).


When my daughter was 14, she declared she was going vegan.

I didn’t totally agree with the dramatic change in diet, but I wanted to give her a good reason why it wasn’t appropriate – especially for an adolescent girl.

The huge amount of information on the internet confused me, and I wanted stats. I wanted to know what she needed to do to get 100% of her daily requirement of protein and iron.

So, I went back to university and found out that the research does support a vegan diet from a health point of view and I got my stats.

Then I wrote down how she could do it.

Now, I really want to help everyone else in the same position.

I had no clue what food my daughter needed and more importantly was missing out on to achieve and maintain a healthy being. I sought help from a dietician, my GP, anyone that could assist, and no one really had the exact answers I was after for a teenager, until now. Just awesome! Melinda - stressed Mum

Then it got really interesting.

As we found and worked on recipes together, something remarkable happened - she started talking to me :)

Well she had to really, we were in the same room a lot (the kitchen, or the car heading to the grocery store).

We went from simple cooking questions like "Mum, how do you cook rice?" to talking about big issues like "Mum, I think my boyfriend is going to break up with me..." - we were connecting on a whole new level. It was SO GREAT!

So if you have been in my position, and you are able to revisit the discussion, do it!

And I have a plan for you.

By introducing them to the reality of what eating plant-based really means, like including lentils and tofu, we will see if they are genuinely ready or not.
